這是一位叫Suzi於英國時間1/12對主唱Paul Drapper做的專訪 首先 第三張專輯名稱訂為'The Trouble With Relationships' Q1.Please give me a list of song titles for the 3rd album. So far tracks we have worked on are Electric Man, I Can Only Disappoint You, A New Beginning, Forgive Me, but most only have working titles. Q2.Has Chad or Stove written any lyrics for the new album? Is Chad doing lead vocals on any of the songs? No and No. Q3.What sort of artwork do you intend to use for the album's cover? What images does the album conjure up in you mind when you listen to it? The LP cover will be a band photo by Pennie Smith. Q4.Are you likely to be doing a mini-tour before the Summer festivals or any special warm up shows? We will be doing a few small dates before Glastonbury. Q5.Is the single and album still on track for a Feb/March release? No, you should hear the single about end of March, depends on Parlophone's release schedule. Q6.'Rock 'n' Roll Loser' was mentioned as the first single off the new album. Is this still likely to be the first release? If not, what is? We've got a few songs that we are working on at the moment which could be a better single than R&R Loser. R&R is too commercial. Q7.What qualities do you think Hugh Padgem has brought to the Mansun sound? What was it about his previous work that made you decide to work with him? He made the record sound tighter, it's left me to concentrate on playing with the band, rather than sitting in the control room getting takes and stuff. Hugh has made some big sounding rock records, and that's what I want to capture on this record. Q8.'The Trouble With Relationships' suggests that the new album's lyrics are basedon personal experiences. Do you feel vulnerable or uneasy writing 'open' and personal lyrics compared to the quirkiness of 'Grey Lantern' or the bookish lyrics of 'Six'? The lyrics came very quickly and sound more conventional than the other albums, but you can only write what you are feeling at the time I guess. Q9.Would you say this album is experimental like 'Six' or does it have quite a classic pop/rock sound? Some sounds like six, some like AOTGL, but it's more soulful than the previous two. Q10.I've heard the album has quite a lot of string sections on it. If this is so, will it be difficult to replicate it live? There are 4 tracks we recorded with strings, but a couple may appear on the EPs, so I hope it won't cause a problem. Q11.Please give me 5 words (or one sentence) to describe the new album's overall sound: Epic, Soulful, Melancholy, Sad, ROCK! -- I love the melancholy one.. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.twbbs.org) ◆ From: tp-as03-ppp175.my.net.tw
