 DB.com is breaking news: The Mavs – speaking generally about the rules and
not specifically about Drew Gooden – agree with our interpretation of the
CBA, Art VII Sect 8 para (g) … which means that pending the NBA seeing it
the same way, Gooden can boomerang back to the Mavs – not in 30 days, but
TODAY.

   What is not breaking news to DB.com readers: David Lord is an NBA capology
genius.

  From Lord this morning:



   If I interpret the rules correctly … If Gooden negotiates a buyout with
LA, there is no waiting period for him to sign with Dallas because he has
since been re-traded.

   The pertinent section of the CBA  - Art VII Sect 8 para (g) - says, "If a
team trades a player and the assignee Team subsequently terminates the
Player's Contract, the assignor Team shall not be permitted to sign the
player to a new contract until at least thirty (30) days have passed..."



   In this situation, when Dallas traded Gooden, the "assignee Team" was
Washington, and it will not be the Wizards who will be terminating the
contract. Could he be back again in a matter of days, perhaps right after the
deadline? Maybe so.



   Keep in mind, the Clippers don't have to give Gooden his release. So his
availability is no sure thing.

   Also, all of this is still a “maybe’’ because I haven’t gotten the
league’s agreement on Lord’s interpretation; I’m not even sure there is a
precedent for this. … the 30-day waiting period being muddled because a
player’s “original team’’ is no longer his “assignor team’’? Someday,
they may have to change this quirk and call it “The Drew Gooden Rule.’’

    Or maybe “The David Lord Rule.’’

    Because while I haven’t heard from the NBA itself, I have gotten the Mavs
’ interpretation.

    And as it regards the scoop, the Mavs agree with David Lord.

    As most of us around DallasBasketball.com have learned over the years
when it comes to understanding how the NBA rules, transactions and
acquisitions work, it is unwise to NOT agree with David Lord. J






根據CBA的規定

一個球員被交易到另一隊

若被買斷

需要等30天才能回到交易他的那隊

但是如果該球員又被交易

然後被買斷

則不用等30天

所以說

現在小牛交易過去的是巫師

巫師交易給快艇

如果快艇買斷Gooden

Gooden可以直接回小牛







目前快艇好像傾向於不買斷....
