As expected, Dirk Nowitzki will be announced as an All-Star reserve. And
maybe unexpectedly, the rest of the list of West and East backups, as leaked
by the sleuths at Yahoo, include a shortage of snubs.
The complete list of All-Star reserves:
In the West:
New Orleans' Chris Paul, the Lakers’ Paul Gasol, OKC’s Kevin Durant,
Memphis’ Zach Randolph, Portland’s Brandon Roy and Dirk.
In the East:
Utah’s Deron Williams, Chicago’s Derrick Rose, Boston’s Rajon Rondo
and Paul Pierce, Toronto’s Chris Bosh, Charlotte’s Gerald Wallace, and
Atlanta’s Joe Johnson and Al Hordord.
The list of backup participants for in the Feb. 14 game at Cowboys
Stadium will be made official tonight.
Snubs and controversies?
*Horford over Josh Smith will be a subject of debate among Hawks fans.
*The Clippers’ Chris Kaman was snubbed in favor of Gasol – a few days
after Kaman protested the notion in anticipation of it happening.
*The Knicks’ David Lee was left off the squad.
*Western team leaders on standings leaders Dallas (with Jason Kidd) and
Denver (with Chauncey Billups) didn’t make the squad.
