DALLAS -- Eduardo Najera was a MFFL favorite during his first tenure in
Dallas, so it's no surprise that he was greeted with a roar when he checked
into the game for the first time since returning via trade from New Jersey.
It is a mild surprise, however, that Najera is playing tonight. He's been
dealing with lower back problems for most of the season. The Mavs' plan was
to be patient with the veteran glue guy.
However, Tim Thomas is not available due to ongoing personal issues. For some
reason, Rick Carlisle felt the need to go deep into his frontcourt reserves
and skipped right past James Singleton to Najera.
Najera swished a 3 on his first shot, earning another roar from the AAC crowd.
