 Coach Rick Carlisle  isn't going anywhere.

The same may not be true for one of his assistants.

President Donnie Nelson said Friday Carlisle's job is in no jeopardy, that
"nothing's coming out of the blue" on that front.

Carlisle added that he thought owner Mark Cuban had already "answered that
question succinctly."

Meanwhile, assistant coach Dwane Casey remains one of the hottest names
circulating for the open head coaching jobs at Philadelphia, the Los Angeles
Clippers and New Orleans.

Casey said Friday he doesn't have any meetings scheduled yet. "But I should
know more by the first of the week," he said.

Carlisle, by the way, said he was willing to shoulder as much blame for the
first-round knockout by San Antonio as any of the players, particularly when
it came to questions about playing, or not playing, Roddy Beaubois.

"I'm not going to try to spin this as anything good," he said. "When you
lose, it's not.

"As a coach, who plays and doesn't play, you're going to have to live with
those decisions. When you lose, there aren't going to be right decisions. I
accept that when I take the position. None of us like the result, but we all
appreciated the effort that the players put forth."

Playing time blues: Every player on the roster has been a consistent starter
at some point in his career.

Obviously, there wasn't enough playing time to keep everybody happy all the
time.

Brendan Haywood said some hurt feelings were unavoidable.

"Everybody on this team at one point could complain about minutes," Haywood
said. "You think Roddy Beaubois didn't want to play? He proved he should be
playing. Caron [Butler] doesn't play the whole second half of a game. There's
a lot of guys who could complain.

"I'd be selfish to put myself ahead of them. That's the hardest part of
coaching. It's not X's and 0's, it's managing players and minutes."

Haywood added that "the biggest disappointment to me was that we
underachieved. We could have gotten to the Western Conference finals and once
you get there, no telling what happens."

Free Roddy B.: Beaubois said he became aware of the "Free Roddy B." campaign
as the season went along and was flattered.

"It's always good to have support from your fans, and I really appreciate
it," he said. "It was difficult [not playing] in the beginning, but my
coaches and teammates pushed me. I think I proved a lot this year."

Beaubois is supposed to take part in summer league in Las Vegas in early
July.
