 Now introducing: While the injuries and illnesses keep taking away players,
the Mavericks were happy to get a key contributor back Wednesday night.

Tim Thomas wasted no time showing what he can bring.

At the end of the third quarter, Thomas grabbed an offensive rebound for a
put-back. Then, on the following possession, he earned big points with the
crowd when he hustled for a loose ball and flipped in a 15-foot shot as fans
went wild. That it came after the buzzer didn't matter. It still was the kind
of play that ingratiates a player to the home crowd.

Especially when they haven't seen him play before.

Thomas was just glad to finally get in on the fun of the Mavericks' early
season success.

"It's always tough when you're watching the guys go to war every night and
you're trying to get back in the mix," Thomas said. "It's just one of those
things where I never had an injury or a surgery before. I didn't really know
what to expect. I've just been working my tail off to get back."

It'll take some time to knock off the rust. But Thomas already has shown he's
capable of being a force.

Dampier update: Erick Dampier was in street clothes, but at least he was back
on the bench with his teammates.

Dampier, who was hospitalized Sunday when he became ill in pregame warm-ups,
has been going through a battery of tests and the Mavericks still are waiting
on results about what went wrong with the center.

He will sit out until doctors figure out the problem. Dampier seemed fine and
Maverick officials said he was in good spirits.

More injuries: Shawn Marion sat out against San Antonio, and he may also sit
Sunday against Sacramento because of the sprained left ankle he suffered in
the first quarter Monday at Milwaukee.

If Marion takes off Friday, the Mavericks do not play again until Tuesday.

Briefly: Popeye Jones was back on the bench with the other coaches for the
first time since his arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence ...
Roddy Beaubois did not play against San Antonio in the loss last week. San
Antonio coach Gregg Popovich was asked if Beaubois might be one of the top
two French-speaking guards in Texas. "Without a doubt," the coach said. The
Spurs' Tony Parker, of course, would be the other.


T__T今天打了第一場比賽

他一上場就show給觀眾他能做的事

雖然那球投出時時間已經到了

T__T表示看著隊友在場上奮鬥時自己只能觀戰

是件很難過的事

Dampier今天穿便衣來看比賽

雖然他沒辦法上場

但球團表示他狀況好很多

球團還要等醫生檢驗出Dampier身體出了什麼狀況

再評估他何時會回到場上



Marion今天休息了一場

他星期五也許會再休一場

如果他那場休息

小牛要到下星期才有比賽
