talk to The Telegraph ahead of thier Wembley Arena date next year


被稱為華人披頭四的台灣樂團「五月天」在明年於Wembley Arena演出之前
先接受The Telegraph訪問


As compliments go, being dubbed "the Chinese Beatles" is hard to top -
especially for a band who credit John Lennon and Paul McCartney as their
chief inspirations. Yet such was the tag bestowed on Taiwanese rock quintet
Mayday by the Washington Post. That may sound like a heavy burden to bear,
but, with eight studio albums to their name and global ticket sales exceeding
20 million, Mayday have no reason to be intimidated by the comparison.


被稱為華人披頭四是很難得的美譽
特別對於以John Lennon和Paul McCartney作為核心思想的樂團來講更是如此

華盛頓郵報賦予台灣搖滾樂團五月天的這項美稱，聽起來可能會是個承重的負擔，
但出過八張錄音室專輯與全球超過2000萬的演唱會票房，五月天實在沒理由感到害怕



The band were in London to promote the European leg of their NOWHERE world
tour. They have already sold more tickets than Madonna's MDNA tour and by the
end of the year, will have played 71 shows in a jetlag-inducing 40 cities.They
are due to play at the Wembley Arena on February 21 2014,with tickets going on
sale this Friday, before travelling to Paris onFebruary 23 and Amsterdam on
February 26.


五月天已抵達倫敦宣傳諾亞方舟世界巡迴的歐洲旅程

在今年年底之前，該巡迴已於40個不同時差的城市舉辦71場演唱會，
售出的門票比瑪丹娜2012MDNA世界巡迴還要多。

他們預計2014年2月21日於Wembley Arena演出，門票將於本周五開始販售，
接著2月23日與2月26日轉往法國巴黎和荷蘭阿姆斯特丹演出。





Despite this, however, Mayday remain largely unknown in Europe.
The five band members - Ashin (lead vocals), Monster (guitar), Stone (guitar),
Masa (bass) and Ming (drums) - grew up together in Taiwan's capital, Taipei,
and began by playing low-key gigs at a series of pubs and clubs before they
were signed to Rock Records, the label of Jonathan Lee - "the godfather of
Chinese popular music". That was in 1999. Awards, fame and the kind of devoted
fans that make "One Directioners" look subdued have followed, but success
outside of Asia remains elusive. They hope to change all that in 2014 and spoke
to The Telegraph about their ambitions.


儘管如此，五月天在歐洲仍舊鮮為人知。

由主唱阿信、吉他手怪獸、吉他手石頭、貝斯手瑪莎與鼓手冠佑組成，五人皆成長於台北
，剛開始是在各pub與俱樂部演出的地下樂團

後於1999年被「華語音樂界教父」李宗盛相中簽入滾石唱片。

擁有獎項、聲望與被折服而追隨的死忠歌迷，但能否在亞洲以外成功還是未知數。
五月天希望在2014年改變現況並向The Telegraph宣告這份野心。
