Meg Ryan Says Crowe Did Not Break Up Her Marriage

BERLIN (Reuters) - A short-lived romance with ``Gladiator'' star
Russell Crowe was not the reason for ending her marriage to actor-
husband Dennis Quaid, Hollywood actress Meg Ryan said in an
interview published Monday.
``My marriage with Dennis had already fallen apart before I met
Russell,'' Ryan was quoted as saying in the German edition of
InStyle magazine.
Crowe and Ryan began a much-publicized affair while filming
''Proof of Life'' in Ecuador last year. Ryan, 39, ended her nine-
year marriage to Quaid, but split with Crowe, 37, earlier this
year.
Crowe, nominated for best actor in the Academy Awards for his role
in the Roman epic ``Gladiator,'' also told reporters last month he
was not to blame for the breakup of Ryan's marriage.
``It would be really great if people would realize that stars are
only people with the same weaknesses and flaws, not immaculate
idols,'' Ryan said.
She declined to detail the reasons for the breakup of her marriage.
