anTee 兄所提到的那本 Osprey 的 Aircraft of the Aces 2 中 Marseille
的座機有:
1. 1942 年二月擊落 50 架的 Bf109F-4/Z Trop, Werk-Nr.12593
2. 1942 年五月擊落 68 架的 Bf109F-4/Z Trop, Werk-Nr.10059
3. 1942 年六月擊落 101 架的 Bf109F-4/Z Trop, Werk-Nr.10137
4. 1942 年九月擊落 151 架的 Bf109F-4/Trop, Werk-Nr.8673
另外 Marseille 殉職時的 Bf109G-2 序號是 Werk-Nr.14256
圖片中二月份那架的機尾是紅色 (或近似紅色) 的, 其它都是砂黃色。
但是另一本日文的 Luftwaffe Aces in WWII 以及 Schiffer 出版社的
Aircraft of the Luftwaffe Fighter Aces I 中對於 1942 年二月那架
Bf109F-4/Z Trop 的序號卻是 Werk-Nr.8693。
茲將 Schiffer 在該圖的旁白載出如下:
「This Messerschmitt was one of the first Bf109Fs used by the well-
known Hans-Joachim Marseille, during Febuary 1942. The camouflage
was the standard tropical type with upper surfaces in RLM 79 and
with RLM 78 underneath. This spinner, nose, fuselage tail band
and undersurfaces of the wingtips were in white. On the reddish-
brown primer-colored rudder were 50 victory cars in pale yellow,
the same color as the lower engine cowling.」
Schiffer 還有一架 Werk-Nr.8673 的 Bf109F 旁白如下:
「This aircraft was the last Bf109F used by Marseille before he was
killed in September 1942. No information is available about his
eight victories in a Bf109G-2. The camouflage was mainly RLM 79
with RLM 78 underneath. The nose and fuselage tail band were in
white, but there were no white wingtips, nor yellow engine cowling.
The emblem of I./JG27, however, appeared on the engine cowling.
This was Marseille's only aircraft where the yellow 14 was surrounded
by a thin black border. On the rudder was the number 100 surrounded
by a wreath of Oak Leaves, the first row of yellow victory markings
having eleven, then four rows with ten each, a total of 151.」
北非英軍有使用 P-40C, 只不過這型戰機在英國被稱為 Tomahawk Mk.II B
在 1941 年秋天就已出現在北非了, 但是德軍飛行員一直分不清楚 Tomahawk
和 Kittyhawk (P-40D 以後的機型) 的差別。倒是 P-40 在美軍中的 nick-
name 是 Warhawk。
至於塗裝的問題小弟一竅不通, 在這邊幫不上忙...
