Payton和Stoudamire+O'neal交易!!!!
The latest trade rumor has Gary Payton of the Seattle SuperSoncis coming
to the Portland Trail Blazers for Jermaine O'Neal and Damon Stoudamire in
a pre-draft trade according to Mike Monroe of FoxSports.com.
Monroe says that Seattle has been trying to get rid of Vin Baker but
is having problems because of his large contract. Since Payton has made
it clear that he does not want to play with Baker any longer,
trading Payton might be their best bet.
This is where Portland comes in. O'Neal has stated that he wants out
of Portland and they have been shopping him to every team around the l
eague. Monroe also comments that Stoudamire has not been that happy in
Portland and would easily fit into Payton's spot with the Sonics.
This trade would also work in the salary cap because Stoudamire is a
base-year compensation player. That means that only $8.4 million of
his $12.4-million salary for 2000-01 would count against Seattle's cap.
This trade could not go through until Aug. 1 though, because
the new base-year figure doesn't start until July 1 and there is
a trade moratorium in July
A Blazer spokesperson said: "We don't comment on trade rumors."

At this time of year the rumor mill never stops so we will have to wait
and see what happens.
