If Maryland played as well as they did against UNC,
I pick Maryland for the following reasons.
1. They have nothing to lose; no one expects them to
win the Championship. On the other hand, Duke has never
been able to get one so the pressure will be on them.
2. Maryland already beat Duke before so they will come
with the same mentality as they did against UNC. They
may be young but they won't be afraid of their opponent.
Had their opponent been some team they have never met
before, the youth would be their disadvantage but
not when they will be up against Duke.
3. Duke may have a deeper bench and better size; Maryland
has quickness and may disrupts Duke's game. So it will
be a game picking speed against size. I favor speed because
bigger players may not have time to react and hence no advantage.
4. In Duke's recent two games, I feel that their offense can
be stagnant at times. They may need to count on Currie more
so than ever but Currie wasn't playing with the authority
in these two games.
Regardless of who wins, it should be an interesting game.
