8. Lamont Long 6-4 190 SR New Mexico Lamont Long pulled his name out of the draft last year almost immediately after applying for the annual talent hunt. He showed his versatility by playing point guard early in the season as a freshman. Long is a very good ballhandler who can create his own shot. He is an outstanding rebounder for his size and uses his size advantage well against smaller player. Long can be a bit streaky at times. Long averaged 18.6 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. He is comparable to Cutino Mobley. He will play in the Desert Classic, the biggest of the three pre-draft camps and is a late first or early second round pick. 9. Johnny Hemsley 6-5 195 SR Miami (FL) Johnny Hemsley is a good all-around player who had shown improvement after his first two seasons, but he has stagnated this year. Hemsley is averaging 18.0 points and 3.6 rebounds this season. He is shooting just 39.4% from the field and 29.9% from the line. He was named to the Desert Classic, the biggest of the three pre-draft camps and is a second round pick. 10. Bootsy Thornton 6-4 195 SR St. John's Bootsy Thornton is an outstanding outside shooter who made big splash last season as a junior college transfer. He recently was named the Big East Tournament MVP. Thornton is an underrated defender. Surprisingly, he has struggled from the free throw line, making just 55.3% from the charity stripe.
