5. Kaspars Kambala 6-9 250 JR UNLV
Kambala is an excellent low post player with good interior moves. He
does a good job of drawing fouls and getting to the charity stripe.
Kambala needs to become a better passer and he is not the
shotblocking presence you would expect. He is a good rebounder who
is not afraid to play physically. Kambala needs to stay out of foul
trouble. He is averaging 19.0 points and 9.2 rebounds a game and is
shooting 54.5% from the field. Kambala could benefit by coming back
for his senior campaign.
6. Jerome Moiso 6-10 230 SO UCLA
Moiso has long, rangy body with a good outside touch, if open. Moiso
is more effective facing the basket than with his back to it and needs to
get stronger. He is a good rebounder and is effective around the
offensive glass. He is a good leaper, but should be a better shotblocker
than he is. Moiso needs to improve his passing skills. He is averaging
13.3 points and 7.6 rebounds per game and he is shooting 49.8% from
the field. Moiso is compared to Marcus Camby and Kevin Garnett, due
to his frame. He could use another of college experience, but his name
has been rumored as a possible early entry candidate.
7. Jason Collier 7-0 243 SR Georgia Tech
Collier is an excellent shooting big man who is a power forward,
despite his 7-0 size. He needs to improve his low post game, but he will
force an opposing big man to defend him on the perimeter. He has three
point range and is a very good rebounder. However, he is not the
shotblocking threat that you would expect from someone with his size.
The Indiana transfer needs to show a bit more of a 'nasty' streak at
times. Collier is averaging 16.0 points, 9.6 rebounds and 1.2 blocked
shots per game. He is shooting 46.1% from the field. He will play in the
Desert Classic, the biggest of the three pre-draft camps and is a mid
first round pick.
8. Marcus Fizer 6-8 240 JR Iowa State
Fizer is having an outstanding junior season and has carried the
Cyclones back into the Top 25. He has raised his field goal percentage
from 45% last season to 61.6% from the field this year. He is a strong
inside player who has had to play out of position at center for Iowa
State. Fizer needs to expand his shooting range and become a better
passer. He has improved as a rebounder, but he is just barely above
average in that category. Fizer could return for another year at Ames as
five of the Cylclones' top six players are juniors. However, Fizer is a
potential late lottery or mid first round pick. He is averaging 21.2 points
and 7.8 rebounds a game.
