Scoonie Penn PG 5-10 185 Ohio State Good penetrating playmaker who can score as well. A bit undersized, but he has good leadership skills. 6. Morris Peterson SG 6-6 210 Michigan State Best sixth man in the country last season. Can score both inside and outside. An unselfish player who moves well without the ball and is a good defender. 7. Pete Mickeal SF 6-7 220 Cincinnati Solid all-around forward who plays excellent defense. Needs to continue to improve his perimeter skills. 13. Harold Arceneaux SF 6-6 215 Weber State Effective scorer around the basket and has a good mid-range game. Must improve his perimeter shooting and passing. 14. Lamont Long SG 6-4 190 New Mexico Very good ballhandler who can create his own shot. Outstanding rebounder for his size. Can be a bit streaky. 15. Eduardo Najera PF 6-8 235 Oklahoma Strong inside player with a nice outside shooting touch. A good passer and all-around player. Needs to improve his athleticism and quickness. 16. Mamadou N'diaye C 7-0 235 Auburn Good shotblocking and rebounding center who has improved as a offensive performer this season. Has good footwork and strength with a good upside. Still developing. 17. Jamaal Magliore C/PF 6-10 243 Kentucky Took his name out of the NBA Draft to return for his senior season. Has come alive offensively recently. Needs to improve his face-the-basket game to play more minutes at power forward. 18. Ed Cota PG 6-0 198 North Carolina Outstanding passer who knows how to run a team. Has an impressive assist-to-turnover ratio. Needs to improve as an outside threat to keep opposing teams honest. 19. Desmond Mason SF 6-6 217 Oklahoma State An outstanding athlete who has shown improvement each season as a shooter. Good defender who needs to improve perimeter skills to play more minutes at shooting guard. 20. Chris Carrawell SF 6-6 220 Duke Versatile player who can defend several positions on the floor. Needs to continue to improve as an offensive player. 21. Dan Langhi PF 6-11 215 Vanderbilt Excellent outside shooting big man who needs to show more of a low post game. Having an outstanding senior season. Reminds scouts of Matt Bullard. 22. Ken Johnson C 6-11 240 Ohio State Strong shotblocker who shined in the Buckeyes' NCAA Tournament run and is currently leading the country in that category. Has improved offensively, but needs to improve his strength to score better in the low post. A good athlete with a soft shooting touch. 23. A.J. Guyton PG 6-1 175 Indiana Good offensive player who is off to a strong start. Moves well without the ball, but needs to improve his playmaking skills to play point guard in the pros. 24. Johnny Hemlsey SG 6-5 195 Miami (FL) Good all-around player who has improved every season. Strong outside shooter with good size at shooting guard. 25. Kevin Freeman SF 6-7 230 Connecticut Hard worker who is a good inside player. Must improve shooting range and ballhandling skills to play primarily small forward in the NBA. 26. Lamont Barnes PF 6-10 230 Temple Athletic forward who can play both inside and outside, but needs to improve his perimeter skills. 27. Jason Hart PG 6-2 180 Syracuse Outstanding defender who needs to improve his assist totals. Has shown improvement throughout his career. 28. Brian Cardinal PF 6-8 230 Purdue A hard-nosed, scrappy player who often draws the ire of opponents. Solid all-around player who needs to stay out of foul trouble. 29. Matt Santangelo PG 6-1 180 Gonzaga Excellent outside shooter who moves to the point guard full-time this season. Questions about his quickness and athleticism haunt him. 30. Gained a fifth year of eligibility and has shown a more complete offensive game. 35. Darnell Williams G 6-5 205 Xavier Good offensive performer who missed all of the 1998-99 season with a knee injury. A good defender with a nice outside touch. 36. Monty Mack SG 6-3 195 Massachusetts Good offensive player who needs to improve his shot selection. A bit undersized at the shooting guard spot. 37. Richie Parker SG 6-5 200 Long Island Talented scorer with good athletic and scoring ability. Must prove to NBA scouts that his past problems are behind him. 38. Must improve defensively and show that he can play point guard at the next level. 49. Evaldas Jocys SF 6-9 220 East Carolina Well-rounder player is a good outside shooter and passer. Needs to show more toughness inside. 50. Luther Clay PF 6-9 230 Rhode Island A talented forward who has been a bit of an underachiever. 51. Brandon Kurtz PF 6-10 255 Tulsa Good low post player who will likely move to power froward at the next level. Needs to get stronger and avoid foul troubles. 52. Lavar Postell SF 6-6 215 St. John's Solid all-around player who does a little of everything. Needs to improve his ballhandling and passing skills to spend some time in the backcourt. 53.
