「 有 沒 有 十 元 零 錢 ？ 」 英 文 怎 麼 說 ？
「 零 錢 」 是 change ， 這 個 change 是 不 可 數 名 詞 （ uncountable noun ）
， 無 論 多 少 零 錢 都 不 可 加 s ， 例 如 ： Please give me change for
this ten-dollar note （ 請 把 這 十 元 紙 幣 找 開 給 我 ） 。 「 紙 幣 」 英
式 英 文 叫 note ， 美 式 叫 bill ， 例 如 ten-dollar bill 等 。 「 有 沒 有
十 元 零 錢 ？ 」 可 以 說 Have you got change for ten dollars ？
假 如 你 準 備 給 人 家 一 張 百 元 紙 幣 ， 換 十 張 十 元 紙 幣 或 十 個 十
元 硬 幣 ， 則 可 以 說 ： Do you have change in ten-dollar notes / coins for
a hundred-dollar note?
此 外 還 有 small change 、 loose change 兩 個 說 法 。
Small change 強 調 輔 幣 面 額 低 ， 可 引 伸 解 作 微 不 足 道 的 東 西 ， 例
如 ： （ 1 ） He produced a handful of small change （ 他 拿 出 一 把 低 面
額 零 錢 ） 。 （ 2 ） To the billionaire, a hundred thousand dollars is
small change （ 對 那 億 萬 富 翁 來 說 ， 十 萬 元 不 過 九 牛 一 毛 ） 。
Loose change 則 強 調 輔 幣 之 「 散 」 ， 例 如 ： The loose change jingled
in his coat pocket （ 他 外 衣 口 袋 裡 的 輔 幣 叮 噹 作 響 ） 。
最 後 不 妨 談 談 錢 幣 的 面 額 。 「 面 額 」 英 文 叫 denomination ， 「 十
元 和 二 十 元 面 額 的 紙 幣 」 即 banknotes in denominations of $10 and
$20 。 面 額 高 低 可 用 high 、 low 二 字 來 說 ， 例 如 ： （ 1 ） With
Chinese New Year coming up, the banks frequently ran out of low denomination
notes （ 農 曆 新 年 將 臨 ， 銀 行 的 低 面 額 紙 幣 往 往 供 不 應 求 ） 。
（ 2 ） The banknotes, mostly of high denominations, were found in the
