Training with Lleyton 18-07-2003
The training sessions for the Fed Cup are going nicely.
Yesterday and today I practised twice one hour and a half.
On the court with Lleyton at 7 in the morning, I can assure
you that there are easier games. He would go for each ball.
A short ball, which would normally would be a winner, is now
being returned... I couldn't imagine a more perfect training.
Today I have been running on the track as well and played
some soccer. Nono, not with dad, but with Marc and Eveline,
a kind of mini-soccer. Tomorrow will be a bit more quiet.
Some training, stretching, massage and at lunch a press
conference for the ballot.
I don't really like the court, not fast enough. You could
compare it a bit with the one of last year's Proximus Diamond
Tennis Night where I played Justine.
The atmosphere however couldn't be better. Always is at a
Fed Cup. It is fun to see Caroline Maes again. We have been
at school together for five years, but haven't seen each other
much ever since. Right now we catch up and have a lot to talk
about. Mind you, it is not because we make a lot of fun that
we don't take the matches seriously. Each one of us has to
take care of playing their best game and then it shouldn't be
a problem!
I hope you all will be watching us en masse this weekend?
