2.對於從十四世紀義大利開始的古典文化復興之趨勢，一般認為是「文藝復興」時代的
起源。古典文化復興的趨勢，包含人文主義(humanism)的發展。請就上課所談的教材
及相關的閱讀中，對於「再生」或「復興」、和「人文主義」或「個人主義」的觀念，
你個人有何批評性的討論?(17分) 請論述閱讀範圍所提及的人文主義發展，並兼及回答
為何在佛羅倫斯(Florence,or Firenze)，它是一種有特定意義的城市人文主義
(civic humanism)? (17分)
3.在文藝復興時代，印刷術傳播的效能是否被過度強化的質疑，請具體由印刷術發展的
背景，和文藝復興新觀念的傳播議題來申論。(17分) 與此問題相近的，則為近來對新
觀念是否由義大利「傳播」出去的角度之修正，請申論此點，並討論這樣的思維，對瞭
解「文藝復興時代」，有什麼幫助? (17分)
4.所謂文藝復興「藝術的社會性」為何? 或藝術與社會的關係性是如何?請自行選擇閱讀
資料來討論，例如 Michael Baxandall,Painting and Experience in
Fifteenth-Century Italy; E.H Gombrich,“The Leaven of Criticism in
Renaissance Art:Texts and Episodes”一文；Evelyn Welch,Art and Society in
Italy 1350-1500;或John Shearman,Mannerism等，如何選擇，亦請說明理由。(34分)
5.宗教改格的時代(the Reformation)及其意義，本學期閱讀範圍的Steven Ozment,
The Age of Reform 1250-1550之第五章，對這個詞彙及時代，有何主要論點?(17分)
就其他上課教材，以你對十六世紀的瞭解，宗教改革對整體時代有那些部分的影響
或衝擊? (17分)
6.請翻譯下面這段文字，並闡釋從「海外探險時代」的角度，對理解文藝復興時代，
有何新的刺激：(34分)
Alison Brown, The Renaissance,2nd ed. (London:Longman,1999),98:
“One of the defining characteristics of the Italian Renaissance has always
been the period's self-image of itself as a rebirth, but now it is exactly
this self-image that is under assault for promoting too favorable and
biased a view of itself and projecting on to the barbarian 'other' the
aspects that it least liked about itself.
A new Renaissance must include the dangerous and difficult texts that
were recovered but marginalize for not conforming to the Renaissance's own
highbrow view of itself, which can provide a valuable starting-point for
defining a less ' civilised' but no less rich and innovative culture.”
