(b) What is the physical meaning of De? (c) Determine the parameter a in terms of De and the force constant at equilibrium (k). 2. Apply the Taylor expansion to the potential energy given by the Morse potential V(R) = De{1-exp[-a(R-Re)]}^2 to show that the force constant k is given by k = 2*De*(a^2) 3. Calculate the relative population of the first five rotational levels of the ~ ground state vibrational state of H35Cl at 300K. (Bv=10.4398cm^-1 forν=0) 4. Calculate the Huckel molecular orbital energies of allyl radical, which is a planar radical, in terms of the Coulomb integrals (α) and resonance integrals (β). 5. (b) If the system of (a) is perturbed by H'=b for 0.5L<x<0.75L and 0.5L<y<0.75L , where b is a constant, and H'=0 elsewhere, find E(1) for the ground state.
