一、
(1)Darwin如何說明「良心」(conscience)的起源？ (15%)
(2)試分析Darwin的說法會面臨的困難。 (5%)
二、
以下是有關「人性尊嚴」(human dignity)應予拋棄的一種說法：
一般認為人是有尊嚴的，而人性尊嚴指的是：人，有別於其他動物，具有獨特的道德地位
。傳統上，人的獨特道德地位建立在兩個基礎之上：人是上帝的肖像；人是唯一具有理性
的動物。從演化論的角度來看，這兩個基礎都不成立。所以，人性尊嚴是個應該予以拋棄
的過時概念。
(1)請討論以上之說法是否成立。 (15%)
(2)就你所知，除了以上的說法之外，還有哪些理由支持或反對人性尊嚴的概念？ (5%)
三、
以下文字出自Darwin的The Descent of Man:
“Brehm encountered in Abyssinia a great troop of baboons which were crossing
a valley: some had already ascended the opposite mountain, and some were
still in the valley; the latter were attacked by the dogs, but the old males
immediately hurried down from the rocks, and with mouths widely opened,
roared so fearfully, that the dogs quickly drew back. They were again
encouraged to the attack; but by this time all the baboons had reascended the
heights, excepting a young one, about six months old, who, loudly calling for
aid, climbed on a block of rock, and was surrounded. Now one of the largest
males, a true hero, came down again from the mountain, slowly went to the
young one, coaxed him, and triumphantly led him away—the dogs being too much
astonished to make an attack.”
一般人會同意「見義勇為」乃是道德的行為。試分析上文中Darwin所提及的狒狒「英雄」
，牠所做出的行動與「見義勇為的人」所做出的道德行為之間，有何異同。 (20%)
四、
(1)請說明R.Joyce如何論證:"It may serve an individual's fitness to judge certain
prosocial behaviors her own prosocial behaviors—in moral terms." (10%)
(2)請分析若Joyce的論點成立，在道德哲學上的蘊涵(implication)為何。 (10%)
五、
請考慮以下的說法：
人可以對動物做很多事：買賣、宰殺、穿牠們的毛皮、吃牠們的肉、限制牠們的行動自由
、進行實驗…等等令動物感到痛苦的事。然而，人卻「不應該」對其他人做同樣的事。這
是什麼道理呢？動物和人一樣會感受到痛苦，並且也和人一樣有利益可言，這表示並不具
有獨特的道德地位。既然如此，有什麼理由給予人和動物以差別待遇呢？欺負無抵抗能力
的動物有如霸凌弱小一樣，都是道德上的錯。
(1)請根據Kant的觀點，說明人為何被視為「目的自身」，而其他動物則可以被視為「只
是手段」。 (15%)
(2)請分析Kant之說法的優缺點。
