Open circulation: blood vessels with open ends that blood mix directly with
interstitial fluid.
Close circulation: blood vessels with no open ends that blood cannot mix
directly with interstitial fluid.

The early zebrafish larvae are transparent with visible blood vasculature and
have blood vessel fluorescent transgenic fish that greatly facilitate research.

Water has much less oxygen compared to the air.
Fish swim to flush a large quantity of water through gills in order to obtain
enough oxygen.In addition, they use a counter current strategy to more
efficiently uptake oxygen.
