(15 pts) Consider the MO of a homonuclear diatomatic molecule. Let HAA = HBB = -3eV, HAB = -1eV, SAB =0.1 Calculate the two MO energies. 4. (10 pts) According to Pauli, what is the relation between the particle spin and the exclusion principle? 5. (10 pts) A helium atom is excited to have the electron configuration 1s12s1 where one electron is in 1s wave function φ1s(r) and the other electron is in 2s wave function φ2s(r). (15 pts) In the transition metal complex of Cr3+, some ligands like Br- are π donors whereas some ligands like CO are π acceptors.
