(b) Determine the formal charge of each element. (c) Using argument based on formal charge, explain why the most feasible Lewis structure for SO4(2-) has 2 sulfur-oxygen double bonds. (g) (i) Determine the number of bonds in the carbonate ion and write the Lewis dot structure. (ii) How many resonance structures are there for the carbonate ion? (h) The HCl molecule has a dipole moment of 1.109D and a bond length of 127.5 pm. Determine the amount of electron transfer from hydrogen to chlorine.
