Describe the scene of Faust's rapture in the Cavern in the Forest. This occurs
at the height of his love for Margarete, before it begins to have bad
consequences. Faust addresses the "Sublime Spirit" but is later interrupted by
that more profane spirit, Mephistopheles. Why is Faust alone in his joy? What
is do significant about this scene that it could be called the Romantic
center-piece of the whole play? Please explain.
