1. Draw the structure of a ramp type analog-to-digital converter and explain
its operation.
2. a) A PMMC instrment has FSD of 100mA and a coil resistance of 1kOhm.
Calculate the requested shunt resistance value to convert the instrument
into an ammeter with FSD = 1A.
b) Draw the structure of this ammeter.
3. Illustrate how the ranges of a multimeter can be extended by the use of a
high-voltage probe and an ac high-current probe. Explain the operation of
each type of probe.
4. Discuss accuracy, precision, and resolution, and explain how they are
related.
5. A frequency-divider circuit is made up of a 2MHz oscillator, a divide-by
scale-of-16 counter, and two decade counters. Determine the time period
of outputs from each counter.
