一. Mary likes to spend some time studying and some time datin. In fact her
difference curves between hours per week spent studying are concentric circles
around her favorite combanation, which is 20 hours of studying and 15 hours
of dating per week. the closer she is to her favorite combination, the happier
she is
(1) suppose the Mary is currently studying 25hours a week and dating 3hours a
week. Would she prefer to be studying 26hours a week and dating 8hours a week?
(2) please draw a few of Mary indifference curves and illustrate which of the
two time allocations discussed above Mary would prefer.
二.here is a table that illustrate some observed prices and choices for three
different goods at three different pitures in three different situation.

三. Jhon's utility function is U(x,y)=min{x, y^2}
(1) please draw two indifference curves for John that is his utility levels are
4 and 16 respectively.
(2) on the same graph, please drae John's budget line when the price of x is 1,
the price of y is 2, and his income is 8. What bundle does John choose in this
situation to maximize his utility.
四. Natal cosumes only apples and tomatos.Her utility function is
U(x,y)=X^2Y^8, where x is the number of apples consumed and y is the number
of tomatos consumed. Natal's income is 230, and the prices of apples and
tomatos are $4 and $3, repectively. How many apples eill she consume to
maximuze her utility?
五. For m>p1, the demand functions for good1 and good2 are given by the
equations, x1=m/p1 - 1 and x2=p1/p2, where m is income and p1 and p2 are prices.
Let the horizontal axis represent the quality of good1. Letp1=1, p2=2. Then for
m>1, what is the income offer curve?
六. Mr. Wang's utility function is U( x,y)= lnx + y. His budget line is
Px X +Py Y = m. please dervie his demand functions for good x and good y,
repectively.
七. 妳認為下列的無異區線中, 有哪一效用函數所代表的偏好與其他效用函數不同?
(1) U1=XY

在追求效用最大的目標下,對肉類和毛皮的需求量為何?
