1. What is biogeography? Explain why biogeography is such a compliated
discipline?
2. Discuss the philosophic aspect of biogeography on mordern science.
3. Explain the importance of species distribution on biogeography and
what limit species distribution.
4. What is sweepstake route? Explain the analog between long - distance
dispersal (LDD) and benefitial mutations.
5. Discuss the role of biogeography in history of speciation studies.
6. Describe Wegener's theory of continental drift and modern evidence
supporting Wegener's theory. Why Wegener's theory wae rejected by
his contemporary?
7. Describe the possible causes and impacts of glaciation.
8. Describe the Pleistocene North American Megafouna Extinction?
What is overkill hypothesis?
What are the supports and rejections of this hypothesis in relation
to other fauna extinction.
9. Describe the major biogeographic patterns (give 2 examples for each)
and explain the possible cause of each example.
10. Describe the Great American Intherchange and different hypotheses to
explain the unbalance exchange between North and South American fauna.
Give your explanation why flora does not have the same pattern.
