1. Please five an example of biological or social closed-loop control systems,
and draw its block diagrams with the basic building blocks. (20%)
(Note: please specify all the variables with typical notations and their
corresponding meanings in your example. For example, the output "y" maybe
the "velocity" of the motor.)
2. (a)please give the description on the design procedures of a PID controller.
(b)Specifically, what should we do if the PID control system is having a
more-than expected steady-state error? (10% each)
3. Given the desgin specification for a closed-loop control system:
i)overshoot<15% ii)rise time<0.1s iii)settling time <3s
please identify the corresponding specifications in terms of
a)the damping ratio and the neutral frequency.(5%)
b)the pole locations(5%)
c)for the typical P-control feedback control system with open-loop transfer
function of G(s)=100/(s^2+10s+100)(s+100) and K=50, please estimate the
specifications (i)(ii)(iii) and give the corresponding damping ratio,
neutral frequency, and pole locations. (5%)
d)please answer as in (c) except with K=2000 (5%)
4. Please specify the stability conditions of the following systems with pole/
zero locations at the following positions:
a) poles at -1,-2+10j,-2-10j; zeros at -2,-10 (5%)
b) -1, 2+10j, 2-10j; 2, 10 (5%)
c) -1,-2+1-j,-2-10j,0; -2, 10 (5%)
d) -1,-2+10j,-2-10j,0,0; 2,-10 (5%)
