The simplication of the factorials is not necessary.
1. (7 points) Detemine the number of vectors(x1 ,x2 ,...,x9) such that
(a) each xi is a nonnegative integer,
(b) exactly 3 of the xi are equal to 0,
(c) sigma (i=1 to 9) xi <=20.
2. (6 points) Four players are dealt a hand of 26 playing cards from two 52
card decks. A hand is said to have a void in a suit if it contains no cards
in that suit. What is the probability of being dealt a hand which is void in
at least one suit?
3. (7 points) If 5 married couples are arranged in a row, find the
probability that no husband sits next to his wife?
