(3)Let us define a political ideology as a comprehensive set of beliefs
about the political world- about desirable political goals and the best
ways to achieve those goals. Thus it is a set of beliefs about the political
world that characterizes what is and what should be,and it might also
offer strategic ideas about how to make changes in the direction of that
preferred situation. Amoung the many different political ideologies that
can be identified in the contemporary world,three very broad ideologies
are widely discussed in Western societies :classical liberalism,conservatism
,and socialism.
