Council On Economic Priorities http://www.cepnyc.org/ Location: New York, NY Duration: Variable (Everett interns- 10 week period, summer only) Deadlines: Everett internship deadline (for summer interns) is March 15th; all other deadlines are variable Pay: Varies (Everett summer interns receive $2,000 over a course of ten weeks). Founded in 1969, the Council on Economic Priorities (CEP), is a public service research organization, dedicated to the accurate and impartial analysis of the social and environmental records of corporations. Based in New York and London, with partners in Japan, England, France, Australia, Italy, Sweden, Canada, Germany, Belgium, India, and Switzerland, CEP is committed to making information on corporate social responsibility available to millions of consumers, investors, policy makers and businesses. Greater access to information enables investors and consumers to make more informed choices whether they are deciding what brand of toothpaste to buy or where to invest their money. Corporations are encouraged by those choices to continue to use their extensive financial and social resources for positive change. Internship Perks: work/study experience; course credit; attendance encouraged at weekly department meetings; summer lecture series; various intern social activities. Departments: Research (social and environmental), Finance and Administration, Marketing and Communications, and Corporate Development. What CEP looks for: Potential interns must have excellent writing and communication skills. Knowledge of computers is a plus. CEP interns are usually college students or recent graduates, but all interested are encouraged to apply. Corporate responsibility issue areas analyzed by CEP include the following: environment, women's advancement, minority advancement, charitable giving, community outreach, family benefits, workplace issues, social disclosure, international sourcing, military contracts, and animal testing.
