1944-45 Billy Eckstine with Sonny Stitt and Gene Ammons
1946-47 LA, records “The Chase” with Wardell Gray
1947-49 NYC, records with Tadd Dameron, Fats Navarro(Bebop先鋒之一)

1950s records only 4 times(十年內只錄了四張唱片)

4. Time Feel: 早期較swing, 中晚期較laid back, even
5. 音樂內容：早期以bebop樂句為主，喜歡引用著名樂句；中期後較多突破和聲限制

6. 早期影響Sonny Rollins及John Coltrane等人，但後期也受他們的影響
