hello,
I am now at Harvard computer lab
but I can not see any Chinese characters
all I can see on my screen are "random numbers"...(except English)
Tomorrow will be the first day of classes
and though I am looking forward to studying here
I can not help feeling nervous and scared, too.
Anyway, I will try my best to enjoy the life here with people from
different places, and try to make lots of friends.
I have quite some free time, and there are lots of activities around,
hope I can get to participate in them.
I am going to have my 20th birthday here on 4th of July,
and because it is also the Independence Day,
perhaps I can get to see some fireworks or parades and celebrate it
with the Americans,
since I can't spend it with my family and friends in Taiwan.
Well...
I find my English quite poor here...
and I don't know what to tell you guys,'cause I just arrived here yesterday,
and didn't sleep too well last nigh.
(my room is very hot, and I haven't got my fan and linen yet..)
I have just opened an e-mail accout at Harvard
joyce@fas.harvard.edu
please write to me (in English please!)
I miss you guys!

Is it your first time to be so far away from home?
There is always some culture shock in the begining and
you should feel much better by the time you come back.
Enjoy your new experince.
