ABSTRACT
Image matching techniques have made the first step of automation
for photogrammetry; however, the tie point measurement, the automatic
digital terrain model production, and the image mosaicking operations
in the aerial triangulation system which still intensively rely on
the area-based matching. The effect of matching depends on how much it
works and its reliability. A matching mathematical calculation with high
efficiency should be capable to deal with the complicated matching area
such as the geometric deformation area of the remarkable relief displacement.
According to this main idea, this new method has improved a few flaws
of the Normalized Cross Correlation in matching, further more; it also
refers to the values of the characters' comparison between the leading-gray
scale and distance, and it cooperates with CLR and Window Shaping that
ameliorate the masking effect and the geometric deformation, which are
the negative influence of matching.
Finally, the statistics of the experiment shows that using the
"leading character information"-including the gray scale and geometrical
data-and cooperating with the CLR and Window Shaping rules could surely
enhance the matching efficiency.
