Welcome Letter from NTU International Student Information Service Club 2005
Dear NTU foreign student:
Congratulations! You are now a member of our prestigious university. We are
members of NTUISIS (International Student Information Service Club) and we’d
like to give you a warm welcome!
NTUISIS is a volunteer group made up of volunteer NTU students from various
departments. The club was founded in 1997 with the support of NTU authorities.
We aim at assisting foreign students with acknowledgements to the living and
learning environment at NTU. Also, during the semester, we’ll hold various
events for you to participate. There has always been excellent interaction
between foreign students and NTUISIS, so you can count on us. We'll do all we
can to help you fit in. If you have any kind of questions, such as course
selection, accommodation and so on, please contact us for suggestion or
information.
We have arranged a volunteer student for you, and soon he/ she will contact
you. If your volunteer fails to contact you, please consult NTU GOCFS at

The following is some information that you might need upon arrival in Taiwan.
1. How to get to NTU
Chiang Kai-shek International Airport is located 40 kilometers south of Taipei.
There are shuttle buses to Taipei Train Station. The trip takes about one hour
From there you can either take MRT to GongGuan Station (http://www.trtc.com.tw/), taxi or buses (236, 251 etc) to NTU.
2. Food
Cafeterias are located within the dormitories. There are also cafes and a
number of restaurants on campus. A variety of restaurants, cafes and bistros
are available within walking distance outside of campus.

All foreign students are guaranteed on-campus accommodation. If you wish to
find your own housing, or move out of the dormitory, you must notify the
school authorities in advance.
4. Transportation

All foreign students residing in Taiwan for more than four months are required
by law to join the National Health Insurance, which offers you with a fair-
priced health benefit.
