上到這裡時, 老師說, 這裡的fighting cocks在此只是賭博的象徵,
但在<沒人寫信給上校>中就是重要的象徵--上校已逝的fighting spirit.
(不禁想起<The Scarlett Letter>中, "The Custom-House"當中作者描寫
那位愛花的sight and fragrance的老長官 General Miller, 作者
其實對這位年輕時以陣前一句"I'll try, Sir!"聞名將領是非常尊崇的...)

想到舞台上衝殺的大家了...
老師說, 別忘了去看改編成電影的<沒人寫信給上校>,
我記得是去年的絕色影展放的吧!...
大家總會好奇, 上校到底在等誰的信.............^^
