[心得] 社長talk

Dear all,

I'm Han, the president of NTUMUN this year.
Perhaps I have talked a little bit in the welcoming classes,
and I believe that the orientation has conveyed the spirits of MUN already,
but there are still things I would like to share with you all, including
my own anticipation for NTUMUNthis year.

● Why I wished to become president of NTUMUN

At the beginning of joining NTUMUN, I was a pretty shy girl. I  did not come
from the top high schools. I had little faith in myself.
Compared with other fellow MUNers, my English skill was not that good.
However, I am always eager to improve myself.

That's why I decided to  stay in NTUMUN. I know there is still much room for
me to improve, but as you can see, because of the one year experience in NTUMUN,
now I can deliver  a speech in front of all of you with confidence.

It is because of NTUMUN that I could have improved so much. I sincerely hope
that everyone, either shy or frustrated, can benefit from  this superb MUN
environment and enhance his or her abilities as I did.

After one year of getting along with alumni and other fellow friends, NTUMUN
has become my second home here in Taipei! Not only  have I found friends with
the same interest for international affairs and passion for MUN spirit here,
but also  an association of extraordinary alumni who  are always there to
guide and help us.I hope that all of you can share my pleasure and the sense
of belonging here in NTUMUN.

● What exactly do I hope NTUMUN to provide you all in the following semester?

After the sharing the ideas above, now I would like to  carry them outthrough
practical activities as follows:

1. Ability Enhancement

During classes every Monday, the academic  division of NTUMUN will give you
information about UN, the latest news and hot issues discussed around the world.
Because we want to provide you with an  English environment, the courses
will all be given in English.

We also have optional Bonus Groups on Friday and Saturday. In the Bonus Groups
, we have arranged a series of English ability enhancement exercises. So, if you
are not confident about your English ability, don’t worry! We  will provide
you with Bonus Groups to improve !

And after one year’s training (including classes, Bonus Groups, and winter
training) we hope that all of the MUNers  will become best delegates with not
only ample knowledge, but also the abilities of, summarization, oral
expression, negotiation and critical thinking.

2. A Sense of Belonging and Alumni Connecting

In addition to a trip which helps new MUNers know each other better, this year
we are going to have a MUN week around mid-October. For the 10th anniversary of
NTUMUN, we'll hold  a reunion with all alumni. In this way, all MUNers can
gather together and have fun! Stories will be retold, experiences will be
shared, and laughter will spread. The mysterious gravitation that pulls each
and every one of us together is simply this: a shared love for MUN.
We are a growing family to which every one belongs!

3. Friendship with Other Clubs

Every club and society has its own feature and strength NTUMUN cannot possibly
provide all. So, this year we will build up the connection and have more
communication with other clubs in NTU,such as ISO, AIESEC ...etc. ,
and other similar clubs in different universities, such as政大, 實踐, 東吳,
成大...and so on. By doing so, I believe that  with a variety of backgrounds,
we will create a clash of positive thinking and generate creative new ideas.
I hope that through cooperation, we can build up friendship and learn together.

All in all, I believe that an NTUMUN experience will go far beyond
your expectations. NTUMUN is where dreams are made big and fulfilled,
if you would join along.
