I heard people saying "xxx is a great player, (s)he does not need to
attend all the rehearsals", or "(s)he can sight-reading very well,
(s)he can perform sight-reading on stage".
Please don't do so if you are a member of this band and like this
ensemble. NO BODY CAN PLAY WELL WITHOUT ATTENDING THE REHEARSALS.
I mean NO BODY. I mean NO BODY.
Music performance is an art. Art requires polishing and refining.
If you consider this band as one which people can learn and enjoy music,
at least attend the rehearsals, please.
Let me repeat it again. NO BODY, no matter how GOOD (s)he is,
can play well without attending the rehearsals.
Of course, get ready before the rehearsals, don't sight-reading
during the rehearsals. Even members of New Your Phil. Orchestra
practice and make themselves ready before the rehearsals.
