Louis Spoher is an important figure in the history of conducting. Another
one is Mendelssohn. The film "Amadeus" featured "conductor" Mozart everywhere,
but that is movie. Mozart lead the orchestra from the harpsihord most of the
time. On the other hand, Hyden probably lead the orchestra from the first
violin.
