A lot of reed stuff..... I hate to deal with reed although I have to.
Bert Hara said that he is NOT a big fan of clarinet, pretty often
he ask people NOT to play clarinet like a clarinet. I was so moved
at that moment. It is a shame that Philadelphia orchestra could not
keep him as their principal clarinet player.
I miss his music a lot. Although very few of you know who he is.

那我就補充一下,雖然也都是陳宣毅學長跟我說的
這位Bert Hara是個日裔演奏家(Hara是"原"),很年輕,才31,2左右
他在96年底的費城管弦樂團的豎笛首席招考中擊敗群雄,獲得此一職位
(他擊敗的人包括芝加哥的首席葉強---本來是助理首席,但好像"扶正"了)
接替將退休的大師Gigliotti擔任首席
(豎笛雜誌上看起來Giglotti挺欣賞他的)

Bert Hara did not stay in Philadelphia, he moved back to Twin cities.
The Philadelphia clarinet principal position audition was actually a
long story. Of course they have a new principal clarinet now, Gigliotti
retired 3 years ago.
I did not know that John Bruce Yeh is the principal clarinetist of
Chicago symphony. So, where is Larry Comb?
