Scott A. Hartman
A native of New York State, Scott A. Hartman attended the Eastman
School of Music, graduating with a Master's degree in 1983. In the
following year, Mr. Hartman became a member of the eminent ensemble,
The Empire Brass, and has enjoyed a demanding schedule of over 100
concerts per season, with yearly stops in Japan, Europe, and cities
throughout the United states.
The unique virtuosity and truly "American" aura of the Empire Brass
have made them popular as feathered artists with symphony orchestra and
on radio and television in countries as diverse as the Soviet Union,
Japan, Venezuela and Iceland. In the United States, the Empire Brass'
most memorable television appearence was on "Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood."
In addition to the Empire Brass, Mr. Hartman teaches at Boston University
and has become an active clinician and soloist. In June 1990, he appeared
as guest artist with the Boston Esplanade Pops Orchestra.
