Usually, (in classical period) a symphony or sonata is:
1st movement -- sonata form
middle movements -- ternary form (for example, minuet)
finale -- can be sonata form or else, like rondo
Beethoven Symphony #1 2nd movement is NOT sonata form.
It is NOT exposition-development-recapitulation.
