I may put some words here. Not only French modern music, many other
modern music works are not available on records. I guess "money" is the
main reason for that.

Let me add a little flavor to this paragraph. This book is pretty old
and well read within the community (clarinet community), perhaps the first
book which discussed the stories of famous clarinettists in the past. There
are some stories which are considered to be false now (due to the more
sysmetic research in recent days). But, still a fun book to read. Pamela
Weston also contributed a chapter on performers and composers in the book
"Cambridge Companion .... the Clarinet", a worth reading chapter, too.
