I read from Chinatimes that a musician from Taiwan
is appointed as the concertmaster of the Chicago
Symphony Orchestra. I heard him in a concert in Taipei
last year, very impressive musician (Tony, there is
one guy who I don't like, but he is not that one).
To my suprise, in an article Chinatimes used a lot
of distorted descriptions to make Mr. Chen (the musician
I mentioned) sounds "better". They overlooked New York
Philharmonic and Philadelphia Orchestra to make
Chicago Symphony Orchestra sounds "better". They
used misleading terms to make the readers believe that
Mr. Chen also won the audition of Philadelphia concertmaster
last year.
Did any of you read that article? I hope that I
misunderstood what they said, although it is Chinese.
Mr. Chen is a great musician and his achievement is
respectable. I feel so sorry that the article on Chinatimes
are so misleading. A true musician does not need to wear
"the new cloth of the king". His achievement speaks for
itself.
