I used to dislike those who claps in "wrong" places. On the other hand, the audience 200 years ago did that when they felt like to. The concert culture changes with time. (I guess Mahler did not expect people to clap, but ..... he is dead.) When there are only two choices, 1. very small crowd go to concerts, they are very educated. 2. people like serious music, large crowd go to concerts, but clap whenever they like (less educated). I would tolerate case 2. Similarly, when there are only two choices, a. very few people in NTUWindBand like to play instruments, they are very educated, b. people in NTUWindBand likes practice, but not always play with "educated style". I am very happy to see case b. Those who clap in wrong places are pretty annoying. I wish they like serious music and go to concert more frequently, later, they may learn not to clap in "wrong" occasions. If they won't change, the concert culture will be changed by them, perhaps. I don't like that change, but I hope there are more people in the concerts. Hsuan-Yi Chen -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.twbbs.org) ◆ From: alpha.phyast.pi
