Yeats," "The Unknown Citizen," "September 1, 1939," "The Shield of Achilles," "Poetry as Memorable Speech" Ω 私心推薦指數(以五分計) ★★★★★ 四顆半 η 上課用書(影印講義或是指定教科書) Norton Anthology of English Literature 9th edition, Volume 2 μ 上課方式(投影片、團體討論、老師教學風格) 英文授課 ,沒有討論,傳統形式一人講課 投影片通常是輔助用,比方說文本裡有什麼隱喻或提到什麼真實世界的文化,會 給大家看繪畫或照片,如果有什麼重要的學界評論也會放在投影片裡補充 通常會先針對時間、空間的背景做介紹,然後簡單帶過作者的生平。講文本的時 候會用很生動的語言解釋,比較困難的字義、格律或句型也會講得頗清楚。但針 對學術評論或作者、作品的文學史評價與定位,這部分的解說難度就頗高,講的 也很快,有點難掌握。不過重要的概念老師會一再提醒。 σ 評分方式(給分甜嗎?是紮實分?) 紮實分,有念就有分,但不一定會很高分。 ρ 考題型式、作業方式 只有期中和期末考,期中出了大概二十題,有填充、問答、簡答和申論(上課有提 過的全都有可能會考);期末有四五題簡答,八題難度不低的申論,雖然老師都講 過了... 會視情況調分,像這次期末大概會大調分@@ ω 其它(是否注重出席率?如果為外系選修,需先有什麼基礎較好嗎?老師個性? 加簽習慣?嚴禁遲到等…) 會傳簽到單。不來上課跟自殺沒兩樣,很多人都熬夜聽錄音打逐字稿@@外系選修 的話只要能接受英文上課即可。 Ψ 總結 會學到非常多東西,但考試時有點崩潰。這次上課的主題是二十世紀初的現代主 義和現代性,剛好是老師的專長,會額外補充大量的學術意見的批評。上次開的 時候原本還有Joseph Conrad的Heart of Darkness,但依同學上次的評鑑意見拿 掉,增加Joyce和Woolf的分量。原本要上的Philip Larkin因為老師提早一周考試 所以沒上。文本範圍大概是從二十世紀初到二戰前,只有一首詩跨到戰後。原本 老師還想上Samuel Beckett但時間不夠根本排不進去,所以課表大致如上。詩都 上得很仔細,小說大致上跳著上但核心主題或重要的技巧風格等都會含括。 不太涼,也滿硬的,但很充實,還是推薦大家可以修Duncan的文學史。 -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 111.248.156.29 ※ 編輯: def74205 來自: 111.248.156.29 (01/13 16:43) ※ 編輯: def74205 來自: 111.248.156.29 (01/13 17:16)
