RESEARCH
In today’s financial markets clients are looking for ideas that set them

incisive analysis of financial markets is what empowers our business and
drives market strategies for our clients and traders. Equity Research
provides the financial and strategic advice necessary for successful asset
management. The group is dedicated to providing insightful analysis of global
stock markets and companies.

WHAT TO EXPECT AS AN INTERN IN EQUITY RESEARCH?
The Barclays Capital Summer Internship Program is designed to provide interns
with broad exposure to the Equity Research businesses. This program consists
of practical work assignment and various other learning opportunities,
allowing interns to develop an ability to handle demanding assignments, which
is a constant reality in the field.

Interns will have the opportunity to analyze industry macro trends and
company financials under the direction of the senior analyst. You will
maintain financial models and industry databases insuring correct and
up-to-date information for research reports that are distributed to sales
force and internal clients and will develop new models as needed.  You will
also review business and trade publications, annual reports, financial
filings and other sources in order to gather, synthesize and interpret data
on companies followed by the senior analyst. It offers valuable real
experience and could help you secure a place on our graduate program in 2013
if successful.

Locations: Taipei
Duration: June to August 2012

WHAT DOES BARCLAYS CAPITAL LOOK FOR IN A SUMMER INTERN?
·         Students currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree and
           graduating in 2013
·         Strong interest in business and finance (no specific major or path
           of study is required)
·         A background in quantitative field is a distinct advantage for
           Research
·         Resourcefulness, team orientation, enthusiasm, and an
           entrepreneurial spirit demonstrated through participation in
           extracurricular activities
