On the occasion of
2005 NTU Neuroscience International Conference

In May 2004, when we started to organize NTU Neuroscience Study Group,
people said: It is
“The Impossible dream”
To dream the impossible dream
To fight the unbeatable foe
To bear the unbearable sorrow
To run where the brave dare not go

Rev. Martin Luther King said, on Aug 28, 1963 at the steps of the Lincoln
Memorial in Washington D.C.
“I Have A Dream”
Let us not wallow in the valley of despair.
I say to you today, my friends that in spite of the difficulties and
frustrations of the moment, I still have a dream
I have a dream that one day this nation (Taida) will rise up to and
live out the true meaning of this creed…
I have a dream that one day in the state(campus)of Alabama(Taida)
little black boys(neurobiology) and black girls(cognitive science)
will be able to join hands with little white boys(computation) and
white girls(genomics) and walk together like sisters and brothers

“We Have A Dream”
We have a dream that one day Taida will be worldly renown for its
neurobiology
We have a dream that one day Taida will be worldly renown for its
cognitive science
So, we
           To fight for the right without question or pause
          To be willing to march into the hell for a heavenly cause
to try when our arms are too weary

On Oct. 1, 2005, here we have
National Taiwan University
Neurobiology & Cognitive Science Research Center

So, now we can say
“We Have A Dream:
The Impossible Dream”
With our glorious quest
the university is better for this
That men scorned and covered with scars
Still strove with their last ounce of courage
To reach the reachable star
