    AJ Burnett狀況不好, 太生氣地推進休息室的木門, 結果雙掌被木門的上的壓克力玻
璃割傷, 原本還表示他是因為下樓時跌倒導致裂傷, 但後來被Girardi質問時, 只好承認
。

    他表示已經向Cashman致歉, 週日則會和隊友們致歉, Girardi表示他仍會正常先發,
AJB的行為也不會被懲處。


    這不禁令人想起了Kevin Brown...

NEW YORK -- A.J. Burnett lost his cool on the mound, then let his emotions
get the better of him inside the Yankees' clubhouse.

Clearly frustrated after allowing three runs over the first two innings of
his start this afternoon, Burnett, 33, went into the clubhouse and pushed a
pair of Plexiglass lineup holders on the wooden double doors leading into the
showers with great force, causing both of his palms to be cut.

Embarrassed by his actions, Burnett, who sustained lacerations on both hands,
initially told trainer Steve Donohue he cut his hands bracing himself after
falling down the dugout stairs. However, he later fessed up when questioned
by manager Joe Girardi.

"I let my teammates down," said a remorseful Burnett after the Yankees' 10-5
loss to the Rays. "I let my frustrations get the best of me. It's something
I've got to deal with."

Girardi let Burnett pitch the third inning, hoping he would regain his
composure and turn it around. But after the enigmatic right-handed
flamethrower hit Evan Longoria and threw a wild pitch before allowing an RBI
single to Carlos Pena, Girardi had enough. He went out to the mound along
with trainer Gene Monahan and pulled Burnett from the game.

"He said he was OK," Girardi said. "I gave him the chance to see if he could
go. After two hitters I decided he didn’t have the command that he thought
he would.

"It’s not something A.J. is proud of. It’s not something I want our players
to do. Mr. Steinbrenner deemed Paul O’Neill the warrior, and he hit
everything. Some guys are just better at expressing their frustrations than
others."
Burnett said he had already apologized to general manager Brian Cashman and
would offer an apology to his teammates Sunday.

"100 percent it won't happen again," said Burnett.

Burnett's outing began to spiral in the first when he allowed an RBI double
to Pena. Then in the second, he surrendered a two-run home run to ninth place
hitter Reid Brignac. From there, Burnett lost it and, reminiscent of Kevin
Brown in 2004, decided to vent his anger by delivering a blow to the
Plexiglass. He didn't need any stitches, but after the game bandages were
visible on both of his hands.

"I will continue to talk to him about (the fact that) this is not the proper
way to do it and we need you healthy," Girardi said, "but sometimes in the
heat of competition guys express themselves in the wrong way.

"It’s not gonna change what happened. My job is to make sure it doesn’t
happen again. We have to make sure that he’s OK to make his next start. I
had my talk with A.J., but I’ve got to move on. And he’s got to move on
too."

In defeat, Burnett fell to 7-8 on the season. His earned run average is 4.99
and he has won just once in his last eight starts.

Burnett, who is set to make $16.5 million in 2010, was awful in June going
0-5 with a 11.35 ERA. But after pitching coach Dave Eiland returned, it
seemed as though he was righting his ship, going 1-0 in his previous two
starts while allowing just two earned runs over 13 2/3 innings.

Girardi said Burnett is expected to make his scheduled start. He will not be
punished.
