NEW YORK (AP)—Yankees star Alex Rodriguez(notes) has left a game early
because of tightness in his left calf.
Rodriguez came out of Monday night’s game against Detroit after the fourth
inning. He was 0 for 2 at that point. No tests are planned and he is listed
as day to day.
Rodriguez hit three home runs Saturday night against Kansas City. In Sunday’
s game, he did not run hard to first base on a routine groundout.
Yankees manager Joe Girardi said before this game that Rodriguez might be
dragging a bit.
New York right fielder Nick Swisher(notes) came out in the sixth inning with
tightness in his right forearm.
