   Michael Kay繼2007年12月在ESPN-1050批評Joe Torre後, 現在又在Yes Network的
"the Joe Girardi Show"中表示, Joe Girardi是個比Torre更好的總教練。

他表示: "讓Joe Torre當總教練, 其實和放顆西瓜沒兩樣, 他根本什麼都沒做, 只
擅長讓球員休息室裡的球員維持良好的氣氛, 再來就不過在比賽中畫○和畫╳(誰可以
上場誰無法上場), 其他就什麼都沒做了。"

(科科...真是說到我的心坎裡了)

Those loving rifts and bad blood should circle June 25 on their calendars.
That is the day the Yankees open a three-game set with Joe Torre, and his Los
Angeles Dodgers, in Chavez Ravine.

This just in: The brigade of Yankee suits have no use for the man who guided
the Bombers to four World Series titles. Brian Cashman, the general manager,
won't be breaking bread with Torre in the near - or any other - future.

In fact, it's likely a toss-up who Cashman would rather see drift into space
first - Torre or MLB Network analyst Tom Verducci (he co-authored "The Yankee
Years" with the veteran manager).

It's interesting how this anti-Torre sentiment manifests itself inside the
souls of Torre haters associated with the Yankees. Some of these venom
deliveries are darn creative.

Like the riff Michael Kay put down last Tuesday on ESPN-1050. Kay also works
for the Yankees Entertainment & Sports Network. His relationship with Torre,
who once referred to Kay as Rona Barrett, was almost always fractured.

Anyway, Kay came to the radio microphone apoplectic over changes in the
Yankees lineup. With lefty Jon Lester pitching for Boston, Brett Gardner was
being replaced in left field by righty swinging Marcus Thames. Kay was also
ticked over Curtis Granderson being dropped to ninth in the batting order.
Kay wasn't just angry. He was loud too.

Kay contended that lifting Gardner in the second game of the season would
"completely destroy" the outfielder's confidence. According to Kay, moving
Granderson down in the batting order would not do wonders for his head either.

"You're dealing with two people who have fragile egos," Kay said. "Now you're
putting doubt in their minds."

Joe Girardi made the moves, but Kay said his spiel "is not a criticism of Joe
Girardi." Really? Who changed the lineup? The Lineup Fairy? Kay then defended
Girardi, his partner on "The Joe Girardi Show" (Only on YES), saying he was a
better manager than - yeah, you guessed it - Joe Torre.

"Joe Torre never managed at all," Kay said. "He managed men in the clubhouse,
but he did nothing with X's and O's during a game."

Kay went on to gush about what a great strategist Girardi, who managed the
Yankees to a championship (he's still three rings shy of Torre) is. This is
the same Girardi who, according to the other side of Kay's mouth, made those
awful, confidence-shattering lineup changes Tuesday night.

So, there's a grand contradiction here.

No matter, the end result made it all worthwhile. Kay was able to put yet
another hit on Torre, given another chance to discredit a guy who has become
the Yankee organization's Public Enemy No. 1.
